I found this picture of my kitchen window that I took last Christmas. It was raining outside, and I'm pretty sure the picture was taken on accident. I tweaked the color levels of the photo until it turned out like this... looks like it's raining stars.

Since we're on spring break, instead of featuring someone, I thought I'd share something else with you. I was looking through old photos last night, and I found this one:

I took this photo last year when our yearbook class was doing self-portraits. Since this isn't the one I turned in, no one ever saw it. I think it was a pretty cool idea. (I used to play guitar every once in a while)

Matt Azebu

Matt Azebu '10 is dressed by his sister. Well, not really. But she buys all his clothes for him. When told that his attire is "dull," Matt responded with, "It is dull... It's a fact. My sister says that she gets clothes that she thinks I'll wear. So obviously... I am just an incredibly dull person." However, Matt claims that his "exuberant and livid personality" make up for his dull clothing. The only thing he shops for by himself are his shoes.

“Attractiveness and magnetism of man's personality is the result of his inner radiance.” - Yajur Veda
AKA Don't judge Matty by the clothes he wears. He's a sparkling person on the inside.

Julian Gill

Ever snuck out of the house? Julian Gill '10 has. It was around two in the morning when he and his friend decided that it would be a good idea to sneak out of the house and take a walk. "The weather outside was really nice -- it was foggy and chilly." As for getting out of the house without his parents knowing, Julian said, "It was really convenient because I have a giant sliding door for a window. We just left it a little open so that when we came back it would be easy to get back in." When they got out, they "basically just took a 20 minute walk down a couple neighborhoods and came back."

"I'm sure by any teenager it would be considered quite uneventful, but I still had a nice time."

David Wu

First crushes. Everyone has had them, and some still remember them. David Wu '11 remembers his first crush in fifth grade... Jacqui Salinas. "She was in my Spanish class, but at that age I was really naive and didn't really know what liking a girl meant," David said. At the time, he didn't know that his two besties, Chris Ng and Peter Auvil, also liked the same girl. He remembers the fifth grade days when Jacqui used to call him for help on Spanish homework. He thought to himself, "'Why does this girl always call me?'" And then he realized that "whenever she did call me, she would always try to go off topic and talk about something else."

David recaps a part of the conversation he had with Jacqui five years ago...

Jacqui: I have to tell you something.
David: Sure, what?
-after a brief pause-
Jacqui: I sorta like you.
David: what? What? WHAT?! (Apparently the phone was on speaker)

"I didn't understand what liking a girl was," David said. Over time, as he began talking to Jacqui more and more, he started to like her. Even though it was a fifth grade relationship, he still considers it a "life changing experience."

Adam Perelman

"My dad used to have an afro back in the day. He was a hippie," Adam Perelman '10 said. Surprisingly, when Adam was little, he actually had straight blond hair. "My hair underwent a revolution almost overnight and it became what it is now." He's still experimenting with different styles and even had corn rows a couple of times. Interestingly, he hasn't cut his hair since winter break of freshman year. However, he's thinking about cutting it during spring break because "it doesn't really have that poof that [he's] looking for."

Winny Huang

Winny Huang '09 is known for her petite size. However, her bubbly and enthusiastic personality make up for her height. After a conversation filled with hearty laughs, Winny came up with the following list of pro's and con's:

Pros:
1. She can squeeze into tiny spaces. "I was really good at that game, Sardines, because I could fit anywhere. Except once, I got stuck in the washing machine. It was really scary..."
2. She can date basically any guy because they are all taller than her. AND she can wear heels at dances.
3. "I can wear super short skirts without people thinking that I'm a s-l-u-t."
4. She gets away with things because her parents think that she's cute.
5. She never has to buy a new bed. (She currently has a twin size and her feet still don't reach the end.)
6. She can maneuver around slow people walking in crowded hallways.
7. "And I don't have to duck under low hanging branches," Winny added.

Cons:
1. She was never picked first for Basketball in Middle School.
2. People don't believe that she's 18. "When I was buying tickets to watch Twilight, the cashier asked if she was even 13."
3. She always rounds up when people ask her how tall she is so that people don't call her a legal midget.
4. "I get really mad when people ask me if I have a handicap sign for my car."
5. She always has to get her pants altered.
6. Her feet rarely touch the ground on tall chairs.
7. "When I hug people, my face is shoved in their boobs."
